Your Testimonies...

My Testimony - Kirk Talley

The Word says that we are strengthened by the words of our testimony and by the Blood of the Lamb.  So from this day forward, my testimony shall be Phil 3:13.  "I count not myself to have apprehended" or in simple terms, I have not reached perfection, "but this one thing I do forget these things which are behind and reaching forth to those things which are before.  I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God, in Christ Jesus"

So to the best of my ability, this is how I shall live my life until I can stand before him and say "I have fought a good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith"   Let us all remember that in our Christian journey, God's Grace is always greater than our sin.

Kirk, greetings from Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. I get your emails and so enjoy hearing about your travels and all the wonderful and talented people you have the pleasure of singing to and with. God is so good to you. Your testimony has ministered to me in a powerful way and it lets me know God is right there to keep us safe during the darkest times of our lives. You have shown me that there is hope for men who struggle with intense trials. Bless you dear brother and continue being the anointed man you are! You make a difference! Charlie

During my journey overcoming Major Depression of a recurrent nature, Kirk Talley and the songs he sings have been an inspiration to me. The lyrics in the songs Kirk sings have brought me hope and encouragement more times than I can count. I've truly felt like I've been in his living room for many years. Because of his perseverance during the hardest places in his life I was able to go places I had never been. His journey has allowed me to travel, enjoy entertainment, worship and fellowship with people who love unconditionally. I wasn't always the best company because of my own struggles, but Kirk Talley would smile and make me feel right at home. To this day the song "Holy Spirit Fall On This Place" is still one of my most favorite songs because it is my prayer for us all to have a fresh anointing of God's Spirit in our lives. I've been singing since I was 2 yrs. old & I'm now 57 (oh goodness). I started singing your song "I Know Him" about 3 or 4 yrs. ago. At the time, my 32 year old son had gotten on drugs (after being clean cut & anti-drugs his whole life), and to make a long story short, lost his wife & baby girl as a result and almost everything he owned.  This song ministered to me as much as it ministered to the audiences I sang it to, especially the part that says  "I've rested in His arms a million times or more and everytime He's held me tenderly, so I can stand and say to you that I know Him .....but best of all He knows me".  That gave me the comfort that I needed at that time, just to be held in His arms, and it seems to minister to the audiences just as strongly, as I've seen and heard you do so well several times. It is a powerful song.

I kept clinging to that comfort of knowing Him and trusting Him and last year my son made a profession of faith and is now a Christian as well as a productive citizen again! Praise the Lord! Also, praise the Lord for people like you that the Lord has given the talent to write songs such as you and others have written.

Sincerely,

Kirk - You know that my favorite song is NO OTHER WORD FOR GRACE. It's the second verse that really speaks to my heart. "Now the Father looked beyond the failures I had made. He didn't notice all the times that I had not obeyed. He overlooked all the scars from the sin I held in me, and the Grace that He showed still amazes me." There is 'No Other Word For Grace But Amazing.' I am so thankful to God for blessing you with the talent to write His message in song. Keep your eyes turned upon Jesus, Kirk, and continue to write the messages in song that He gives to you.
You are loved!

I remember as a young boy watching my mother during worship services. She would turn her face heavenward, close her eyes and sometimes with tears streaming down her cheeks sing so sweetly. Her favorite song was Friendship With Jesus. My whole life I have tried to live with that same relationship between my Savior and me. Of course, I've messed up royally so many times. When I heard you sing Intimacy With Jesus, my mind raced back to those early days, and I thought, "That's it. That's what I want more than anything; to sit so close that I can hear His heart beat." Thanks for putting to words what my sometimes wandering heart cries out daily. You're a blessing, brother, and I love you for it.

I attend Christ Temple Church in Huntington W.Va., What a BLESSING you
were this past Sunday morning! Your testimony was very encouraging to
me. I have a son who has been in bondage to drugs and I know how it
feels to be made to feel like you are a failure and don't belong. thank God
I have found the church that doesn't make me feel that way any longer !
I especially enjoyed two of your songs "Judge Not " and "I want
intimacy with Jesus "..they really touched my heart...I thank God for honest
men and women of God who do not pretend to be " Holier than THOU "..we
ALL have issues some just pretend that they don't and they are the ones
living in bondage.. I praise God that He is the answer to everything we
need ! I thank Him for the opportunity to hear you...you really blessed
me and made me a little stronger.. I have felt for a while that God has
a ministry for to me to work with those who feel they don't
belong, Sunday morning confirmed that for me ! Thank you and
God Bless you on your journey.. Wilma

Dear Kirk,  I heard you for the first time about fifteen years ago, or so, in Dayton, Ohio.  When the concert was over, I knew I had music that I would enjoy for a lifetime.  Little did I know that it would be that same music that would help me get past one of the worst events in my life.  After twenty-five years of marriage,  I learned that my husband had been unfaithful for two years.  I was devastated.  I could think of nothing else, and was convinced if I got angry enough, cried enough,  yelled enough, and ran far enough,   I could get past infidelity.  It was far from working.  Then one afternoon I heard "GET PAST YOUR PAST", again for the first time, and every word went straight to my heart. I did not get past my past in a day, but I did get through the experience with God and with a few well placed lyrics.  Ten years later, my family is healing, I am back in Church, with an amazing church family, my marriage is stronger and warmer than ever, and praise the Lord, my husband attends worship services with me and is evolving daily with his relationship with Jesus Christ. You are in my heart every day and I thank God for you and your music. Thank you for being there,  Sheila

Kirk,

I’ve heard many reports from people so thankful for your open honesty which helped others to peel away their own masks so God could deal with them more directly. Also there were many who saw their judgmental spirit more clearly and how it is detrimental to the cause of Christ. Either way you gave everyone an opportunity to see themselves more clearly and to open the door for the Lord to work more effectively in them.

Thank you for being with us. We know that covered sin brings a curse and confessed sin brings blessings, so I want to reiterate what I said in the eleven o’clock service: Your greatest days of blessings are ahead of you as you wholly follow after God. De 28:2 "And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the LORD your God"

Many Blessings,

Pastor Chuck

The name Kirk Talley has been synonymous with great gospel music for many years. As a member of the Talley Trio, he blessed us many times.
With the annointed singing of his songs such as "He Is Here", I have witnessed it usher in the presence of God, whether in a small group, a large church,
a concert or an old fashion camp meeting. As a soloist, Kirk captures the hearts of a crowd and leads them into the presence of God. Anyone that
has ever lost a love one can't escape being blessed and strengthened with "Serenaded by Angels". His ministry and songs have touched many lives
that only eternity will reveal. Kirk chose to stick with gospel music, the music that he loves rather than take the easy way out and leave
when times were tough. Debra and I are pleased call him our friend.

Kirk,
I have been praying about what I wanted to write in my testimony. I want to chose my words wisely as to what I should say. First of all I thank God for having the privilege of meeting you. Their are only a few people whom we come in contact with during the course of our lives other than close friends or family who have an effect on us and you are one of them. We first have been blessed by your music for many, many years. "Serenaded by Angels" became real to us when my sister in-law was instantly killed by a drunk driver in GA. She was only 52 yrs old. The song fit her perfectly. A few years later we began to hear about your struggles and began to pray for you. Since then  we have had the privilege of attending several of your services and hearing you give your testimony, really seeing your heart and how transparent you are really touched us. We came to know you... not only your music, I love all of your songs {have most of them but, you already know what my favorite songs are because I request you to sing them, which you so cordially do. "When He Hung The Moon" and "Hold Me"{ I know that you didn't write that one} but you do a great job singing it. The message in these 2 songs really blesses me, Since my earthly father is no longer with me , knowing that we have a heavenly Father to hold us when we are sad or hurting and  gives us a safe place that we can go when we need Him encourages me beyond words. Especially last year when we had to face several trials of our own. They became my theme songs,
Thank God for your gift of music and how it blesses the world. I'm pleased to call you friend.
God Bless you,
Mary
