I know many of you are preparing for some wonderful fellowship
with family and friends on Thanksgiving Day. I hope you have all
your shopping done and you are ready to relax and enjoy the
blessings of your family.
I am going to my brother's house for the Thanksgiving dinner.
Debra, Roger's wife is a wonderful cook and since my mother's
health is failing, Debra has taken over as the cook for
Thanksgiving and Christmas. I told her I could bring something
microwavable but she wasn't too keen on that idea!
If I were to make a list of things I am thankful for, I wouldn't
have enough time or space in this email for all the things that
would be on my list. Let me just say that I am so thankful for
the Krew and the way that you have held me up in prayer,
supported me with your presence at concerts, your prayers, and
your gifts. God continues, even just this week, to provide, and
to say that I am thankful is an understatement.
This past weekend I was in northern Georgia. I started in
Cleveland Georgia, at the First United Methodist Church.
Pastor David Gravitt invited me there and it was great to see
some old friends from the mountains of Georgia and
North Carolina. Randy and Cathy Gray came down from
Franklin and I loved seeing them. I hope I didn't embarrass her
too bad, but I love picking on her! After the concert at the
church, David took us up to Helen Georgia for a
WONDERFUL meal.
Saturday night, I was in Acworth Georgia with the Voices Won.
They are a great group of brothers that really have great
harmony and did a superb job! Robert and Carol York promoted the
concert at the Technical College and it was great seeing them
also.
Sunday Morning I was in
Lula, Georgia at
Mount Carmel Baptist Church. We had a great service. The
presence of the Lord was so real in the service. The Church was
packed and God truly blessed in the service. After the service,
we went to the fellowship hall for a Thanksgiving Church dinner
complete with all the dishes that Church dinners have! I
especially loved the coconut pie, the sweet potato pie, and the
pumpkin rolls! A special thanks to Carolyn Moat for getting the
concert together.
Sunday night I sang at Airline Baptist Church in Gainesville
Georgia. Mr and Mrs James Franklin invited me to their church
and it was great being there and seeing them. If you know this
sweet couple, ask her about her mishap on Sunday Morning. I
might even tell you somewhere else in this newsletter about it.
. . . . . . . . .
This weekend I am not traveling so I will doing the Thanksgiving
schedule of eating and sleeping and eating leftovers and napping
and eating deserts and dozing........
I hope to see many of you during the next few weeks in
Texas and Florida. On December 1 Charles Lawrence is
repeating his Chamber of Commerce Christmas concert in
Atlanta, TX. In Ft Worth, on Dec 2, I will be doing a
Christmas concert with the Dixie Melody Boys so that will be a
special night. Hope you Texans come out in force!

that! I do too! I wear my button all the time! I have had people
come up and ask me where I got that button. Do I have extra in
my pocket???? YOU BET I DO!!!!!
Oh by the way, I wanted to tell you about a new group that is
really great! Mercy's Well is a new trio from the Triad area of
NC. Their new CD is wonderful. It's traditional songs
that we all know and love, but they have revived them and made
them new and fresh and they have great harmony! Go to their
