Hello Krew
Just a note to say hello and I trust you all survived the ghosts and goblins of Halloween and now you are enjoying what candy you had left over.

This past weekend I was in Martinsville IN and McMinnville TN. I had a great time at the Nazarene Church in Martinsville on Saturday night. Pastor Stacey Allen was hobbling on a cane from an accident he had in a dunking booth for the youth but he welcomed me and was so very nice. Special thanks to Pastor Bob Weimer from Trinity Nazarene church who booked this date and took me out to eat after the service.

Sunday night I was in McMinnville TN at Gath Baptist Church. DeWayne Howard is the pastor there and I have known him for several years. He attended a Bible Study several times that I was involved in. It was good to see him again. "Anchored" a great quartet from the church opened the service. I picked at the baritone singer in the group all night because he is from Maine and definitely had the accent for good ribbin! It was fun and we had a great service with several people coming forward at the end of the service.

So many of you commented on last weeks newsletter. I had one lady ask me how long it took to make up the Rental House story! Trust me...it wasn't made up! It was the truth. Want to hear another one?

We were sitting in Puelo's restaurant in West Knoxville. I hadn't seen Beth in years. I used to work with her at Bachrach's when I worked part time. She was the manager and was so much fun. She moved up in the company and became a buyer and then on to other ventures and now she is Back in the Knoxville area managing a Profitts/Belk store. She called and wanted to go to dinner so we were quietly sitting having dinner, catching up on each other's lives when all of a sudden we began to smell smoke. I first asked her "I thought you quit smoking". She laughed! We looked around and sure enough, smoke began to fill the restaurant. Other patrons were quickly making their exit, We had just started eating so we wanted to get our moneys worth before choking on the smoke! As the restaurant steadily filled with smoke, we hurried and skipped dessert. As we were taking our last bite, in rushed firemen. We looked out the window and saw all kinds of flashing lights and fire trucks. All of a sudden, the rest of the meal didn't matter. I said "OK, lets Go!" We rushed to the front door only to find out that the restaurant was surrounded by fire trucks and flashing lights. As we left we found out that the heating unit on the roof of the building had caught on fire. I don't think we were in any danger but I was blocked in the parking lot, so we stood outside and talked for another hour and half until the fire trucks left. By then it was too late for dessert, so we skipped the thought of Cheesecake!

Beth told me the Men's suit department was looking to hire another sales associate at the Westtown store and wanted to hire me part time. So I said "yes, I can help you". So I am now selling Men's suits, and sportswear when I am not traveling. It actually is a good escape from the stress and pressure. I worked three days this week and it was good to be busy. It won't hinder my singing schedule. The management has agreed to be flexible with scheduling so that I can be in the store and travel on the weekends. So if you are coming through Knoxville and want me to help you with your Christmas list, let me know when you are coming through and I will help you.

I won't be working next week but will start a more regular schedule on November the 14th. If you are planning on going to the Cumberland County Playhouse to see SMOKE ON THE MOUNTAIN on the 26th of November, you should come and shop with me on the 25th. Speaking of SMOKE ON THE MTN, If you want to join us for the trip to Crossville to see Sanders Family Christmas you need to call Dot at the office right away with your credit card number. The last day we can take your reservation is November 10. After that if you want to go you will have to call the Playhouse directly to see if you can be seated with the Kirk's Krew group. The office number is 865-933-2100.

Please continue to pray for my Mom's health. She is still keeping house and still cooking (with Dad's help) and still laughs and cuts up. But her memory is nothing like it used to be, but the good thing about it is, she can still laugh about it. So keep her in your prayers.

Also, please PRAY HARD about the sale of the Auto Lube Business. Not sure how much more of that drain I can stand. We really need God to send a buyer.

Also, please pray for my singing schedule. I have lots of open dates in January and February that really needs to be filled.
