Kirk's Krew News

I was tired of standing in line. I was the 6th person back in the line. There were 5 more people behind me. There were other people working in the store that could have come to our rescue but no one seemed to want to come run the other register. They were busy stocking the shelves with items necessary to every day living. The woman that was paying for her goods was slowly counting out her . 83 cents, nickels and pennies. Normally I would have just wanted to scream "just give him a dollar and he will give you change" but this day I had nowhere to be, it was raining outside, I was in no hurry, I had even driven the speed limit to the Dollar General Store. I had come in for some light bulbs but of course I found several other things that I thought were a good deal, so I had my little red plastic basket loaded with everything from reading glasses (no smart remarks please) to Shower Cleaner to detergent and some batteries. So when the line barely moved, it really didn't bother me. The man in front of me shifted his weight from side to side, disgusted that he had been inconvenienced. The squatty little woman in front of him would turn and look at us and roll her eyes as if to say "what a nut, this lady in front of me is." The longer it took, the more determined I was to keep a good attitude and smile and be pleasant. All of a sudden, from behind me in the line came a deep authoritative voice "Hey, why can't you get some help up there, we ain't got all day." The poor guy running the cash register gave him a "go to" look and said "I can only run one cash register at a time." Well, that just started the chatter from everyone in the line, "I'm gonna be late, I can't believe this, looks like they would have more help, . . . . . . on and on and on." Finally after about 7 more minutes, I got to the cash register and laid my basket of things down on the counter, and paid for them and began to leave. Just as I left, the young man behind the cash register said "Don't let the rain get you down." I stopped dead in my tracks, turned around and looked back at him and said, "Thank you." I noticed as all the other people left, they were still fussing about their wait, but I left with a smile on my face. It didn't matter how hard it was raining, how long I had to wait, I was determined to not let the rain get me down. I got in my car and said "Thank you Lord for the rain. I will rejoice and be glad about it, and enjoy the fact that you are washing your creation here today in East Tennessee." I went straight to the office and answered the phone to find a man on the other end of the line who wanted to buy a car I had for sale. It was going to be a good day!

I learned a big lesson at the Dollar General Store. It's easy to be impatient, it's easy to get frustrated when we get delayed or when our schedule changes, or even when life's circumstances completely alters our plans. When it rains so hard we can't see where we are headed, when it's so cloudy we can hardly see our hand in front of our face, and we fear the unknown, we have to pray, "Lord, don't let the rain get us down, but help us to rejoice in the refreshing shower of your divine leadership and guidance. Lord help us to rejoice in the rain, Help us to sing a song of praise and thanksgiving in the midst of the rain. Help us Lord to dance with a joyful song in our heart, in the midst of the rainstorm" Don't let the rain get you down. I'm going back to the Dollar General Store!

I had a great time yesterday in Archdale, NC at Charity Church. Pastor Willborn is an old friend of mine, I have known him since I was with the Cathedrals, and he made me feel so at home and allowed me to follow my heart and share what God said to share. At the end of the service, after I shared my testimony, I sang "Intimacy With Jesus" and the response was incredible. I didn't even have to extend an invitation. People just started coming to the altar. I quietly went to the piano and started playing and people just kept coming. I looked up and the pastor had humbly gotten to the platform and had laid face down on the floor, humbling himself before God. What an awesome experience it was to have been there. I never know where I am going to sing, who I am going to meet, what kind of circumstances I will encounter, but God always knows where to send me to be a blessing and to bless me. Charity Church in Archdale, NC was a blessing to me!

It was great to see a bunch of Krew members there, Thank you all for coming out to Charity Church. I have already been invited back and we are looking at some dates for next year already.

Speaking of NC, If you are in the JOY FM listening audience, its time to request my songs. I had a meeting with the general manager and he is considering putting my music back into the playlist. I have prayed about this for sometime. Many Krew members have been praying with me, So it's time to call the station and keep requesting "Potters Hands" and "Oh Lamb Of Calvary" from the LIVE AT THE RIVER CD. They have the CD now, so that excuse of "we don't have that one" wont fly anymore. And if and when they do play it, then call them back and thank them for playing it. Actually it doesn't matter where you live, if you listen to a station that plays traditional Gospel Music, keep asking them to play my music.

Well, for years, deals have found me! I love to sell stuff! I have sold everything from fold up bicycles, used tennis shoes, jewelry, noni juice, . . . . . . . . . . A few weeks ago, I got a call from a man that had some close out sweatshirts. So I bought a few to try them. They are TEAM 316 shirts (John 3:16) . I have three different styles. They are great quality cotton shirts that are hooded and will make great gifts for the holidays. The fall season is upon us and these shirts are perfect for this type of weather. I only have 3 dozen total. Here is the descriptions

1. Navy blue, long sleeved hooded sweatshirt with TEAM 316 in Red letters, Velcro pouch on the front and TEAM 3:16 on the back. This shirt is a very thick quality, very soft cotton sweatshirt that I love! I have 6 large, 4 XL and 2 medium They are $25.00 plus 4.00 shipping.

2. Red Long Sleeved with Team 3:16 logo on the front, with a hood, a little lighter weight cotton than the Navy one, the sleeves are red and blue. This one is $20.00 plus $4.00 shipping. In this one I have 4 Medium, 5 Large, and 9 XL

3. Navy sleeveless hooded light weight sweatshirt with the Team 3:16 logo on it. $20.00 plus 4.00 shipping I only have 4 large in that one.

If you would like to have one of these, you need to call Dot at the office immediately. 865 933 2100. These will be gone in a few days and I can't get any more of them. They are great quality shirts, and I know you will love them. So call Dot today and place your order, and you might want to have a second choice just in case someone beats you to the call.

Thanks so much for your friendship and support! Several of you are trying to fill up the holes in my schedule, and I really appreciate it more than you know. I know Romans 8:28 is still in the book and I am trusting God to meet every need. Thank you for praying.
