Hello Krew,
First of all let me answer everyone's question. I did not injure my
eye. I know the recent pictures on the webpage looks like I did, but
I had a blood vessel burst in my eyeball so, therefore, it was all
red. This happened the day before I went to Texas to film LIFE TODAY
with James Robison. Naturally, I wasn't too happy about being on TV
with a bright red eyeball, but it couldn't be helped so I just
laughed about it and hoped it would clear up fast. Well, it didn't
clear up fast, as the next week, in Louisville Ky at the Diamond
Awards, it was still red. I have gotten so many emails wanting to
know what happened so I thought I would just clear that up first
thing today. As of today, it's almost completely cleared up so
hopefully pictures of this coming weekend will be back to normal
looking!
Speaking of the Diamond Awards, I was totally shocked when I was
awarded SONGWRITER OF THE YEAR! I was dumfounded!!. I was so
shocked, I couldn't think of a thing to say. I stammered and
stuttered and probably made a fool of myself trying to say "thank
you". I do want to say thank you for taking the time to vote in the
Diamond Awards. I know some of you voted over and over and all those
votes were counted. Thank you so much. Speaking of awards.........
I just found out that I am in the top five in some more awards.
These awards will be announced at the big Halloween concert in
Winston Salem NC on Oct 28th. I appreciate your support in these
awards also.

Southern Gospel Music Awards 2006 - Nomination Form
This past weekend, I was in Bloomington, Indiana for two days at
Grace Baptist Temple. David House had arranged this weekend and I
had a great time. Got to see a lot of Krew members and met some new
friends also. A special thanks to Georgia Miller who came all the
way from Houston, Texas.

Thanks for praying for all the prayer requests. I am happy to report
that we have had an offer on the Autolube and we are waiting for the
buyers loan to be approved. Keep praying that the closing will
actually happen quickly! Praise the Lord!
Yesterday at work, a funny thing happened. A lady came in wanting to
buy a pair of pants for her husband. She informed me that he wore a
38x42 pants. I guess I had an astonished look on my face so I asked
her "what size?" thinking all the time he had to be a giant to wear
a 42 length. She said again "38x42". I told her that we didn't carry
any pants that were that long. "well that's what he wears" was her
reply. "I guess I will just go somewhere else" she shot back with.
So finally I asked her if she had to stand on a ladder when she
kissed him. "Of course not, he's about your height". Then it dawned
on her, she meant 32 length instead of 42. She apologized and
quickly found the right size.
Then yesterday afternoon, I was waiting on this man who was buying a
suit. I had tried to tell him that he needed a bigger size but he
insisted that the 44 Regular was the correct size. After I convinced
him that a 46 looked better on him, he was happy. He asked me my
name and I told him, and he kept looking at me like he recognized
me. After I had sold him THREE suits, 7 shirts and 7 ties, he asked
me if I was happy with my job. I thought this was a bit weird, so I
just said "yes". He then informed me he was a car dealer and he
thought I would make a good car salesman! I told him that I just
worked at Belks part time. He asked what else I did, so I told him I
was a Gospel Singer. He then said, almost yelled "YOUR'E KIRK TALLEY
AND YOU WROTE SERENADED BY ANGELS AND I'M GONNA HUG YOUR NECK" and
he preceded to do so, much to my embarrassment in front of the other
people in the store!
No telling what will happen today!
