Hello Krew
I hope everyone is enjoying the summer and having a great time. I had a good weekend and am glad to be back at home for a few days.

I started in Shipshewana, Indiana at the Blue Gate Theatre for a Breakfast Club concert. My friend, Bruce Albert took us to the Essenhaus Amish Restaurant on Friday night for dinner.... I was so full, I couldn't hardly sleep. If you have ever eaten at the Essenhaus, you will know what I mean when I say the food was delicious! We ordered family style, which means.....ALL YOU CAN EAT....We had Progressive Pie.....Sweet Cream, Blueberry, Lemon, and Coconut Cream. We all took a bite and then passed it to the right. We just kept passing the pies until they were all gone! If you ever go to Amish Country in Northern Indiana, you got to check out the Essenhaus in Middlebury. To give you an idea about the volume served at the Essenhaus in one week they use 2,100 dozen eggs, 2,700 pounds of white sugar, 60 gallons of apple butter, 3.5 tons of potatoes, 3,600 chickens 3,090 pounds of roast beef, and 2,990 heads of lettuce!

Friday morning was a great concert. After sound check, I snuck into the dining room to enjoy a great Amish style breakfast, complete with slush. Yep.....Slush. It was great seeing the Hess's and the Wagners, The Miller Girls, Jeanne Jacobs, the Vanosdals, Dave and Irma Edwards, Mel Riegsecker, and the Perrys (one of the couples who renewed their vows on last years cruise) and a host of other friends.I had a good time singing "Faithful" with Tammy Bender. She did such a great job!

I left Shipshewana, and drove over to Detroit, had dinner (Cracker Barrell) with Dave and Sherry McLaughlin, picked up the CD's and DVD's they had in their trunk and flew to Sault Saint Marie, Michigan for a concert Saturday night at Hiawatha Youth Camp. It's located in the wilderness in the middle of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, several miles off of the nearest paved road! The evening concert was great....very responsive crowd and it was great to see Billy and Sharon, and Billy Jr and Lori, and Craig and his family.....all Walkers...and it was great seein Clarence and Cammie and Justin Kirk, and all their family.

Sunday morning....up at 4 am, caught the 6:20 flight back to Detroit, and then drove 3 hours west to Hartford Michigan for a great service at Faith Fellowship. Doug Dunn invited me to sing for his church and they were sittin on ready. We had a great great service, several people came to the altar to pray at the ending of the service. After a fellowship dinner, I headed to Indianapolis, then on to Nashville for Monday night's concert at River of Life Church in Smyrna, Tenn. It was so good seeing the Unthanks, the Quicks, and the Galloways, and Tara Jackson again. Tara and I did "Oh Lamb Of Calvary" and it was a big hit. It was good seeing Bill and Wanda Daughtery, also former cruisers.......

Speaking of Cruising ... you need to know we have only 10 outside cabins and 3 inside cabins left out of our original allotment. There may be more available later, but they will be higher priced IF available. So if you plan to go you had best get your reservations made right away. For those few who may not have heard about the cruise...we leave Monday, January 19 from Jacksonville, Fl for Key West and Nassau, Bahamas returning to Jacksonville Saturday, January 24. It will be five nights of fun, food and fellowship (and Gospel music!!) I will be singing 4 of the 5 nights and hopefully we will also have some guests singing. Pastor Larry Lykens will lead a Bible study the two mornings we are at sea. This was very popular last year, and I'm sure will be again this year. Outside cabins are $659/person and inside cabins are $599/person. You can call Dot for reservations at 865-933-2100.

This weekend I will be in Asheville NC and Greenville SC on Sunday........I hope to see lots of Krew members there!
Please continue to pray for my parents, my voice and the sale of some property.
Kirk
